Survival International: Stop illegal evictions and save the tiger - email action

Tribal communities who have seen their ancestral homelands turned into tiger reserves are being illegally evicted in the name of "conservation."  It's destroying them. It's also doing nothing to help save the tiger.

As Sukhdev said before he was killed, "The jungle is only here because of us. If we go, you'll see, after a while there'll be nothing left." Recent evidence confirms that tigers thrive where tribal people are allowed to remain on their land, guarding their ancestral forests.

It’s illegal and immoral to evict tribes who have successfully coexisted with the tiger for centuries, when industrialization and mass-scale colonial-era hunting are the real reason the tiger became endangered.

India's Minister of Tribal Affairs has now denounced forced evictions, but there's a long way to go before the rights of India's tribes are respected.

Your help is vital. We all want the tiger and tribal peoples to survive, but illegal evictions are not the way to achieve this. Please help us fight this abuse – for tribes, for nature, for all humanity. Take action and more information here
