'Forward to Freedom' Exhibition in Scotland. This exhibition on the history of the Anti-Apartheid Movement will be touring Scotland over the next few months, starting 1st to 5th February - in the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh

It will then move on to Midlothian Libraries (starting in Dalkeith) for 8th - 28th February; Aberdeen Central Library from 29th Feb. to 3rd April, and Glasgow Caledonian University from 4th - 29th April.  Apart from the Scottish Parliament ones, the dates shown are when the exhibition will be in the hands of the institutions mentioned and so include the time for setting up and taking down.  Check for the dates of opening and closing to the public.

Dundee Libraries will also be taking the display at dates still to be confirmed, and there may well be other venues.  Let David Kenvyn know at david.kenvyn@gmail.com if you know of, or can offer, any other venue in Scotland where it could usefully be shown - whether this year or at a future date. The full display is 22 boards of A2 size on the British AAM, drawn from the AAM archives at the Bodleian Library, with 4 additional boards on the AAM in Scotland in particular,  drawn from our own archives at Glasgow Caledonian University. Smaller venues may not show the full number, as the boards are fairly self-contained and a few can be left out if space is limited. There is more information on the exhibition here

Carole McCallum, Glasgow Caledonian University's Archivist and the keeper of our Scottish AAM archives, made a successful application to The National Archives for funding to catalogue our Scottish AAM archives, which should now be done over the rest of this year.  This will make them much more accessible, and we are very grateful to Carole for all her work on this grant application as well as everything else she has done for our records over the years.
