Nine billion reasons to act for justice
Every year the Scottish Government spends £9 billion buying goods and services - some from Scotland, some from much further away. This autumn, the Government and MSPs will debate a new law, the Procurement Reform Bill, which will guide how this £9 billion is spent. SCIAF is launching a new campaign calling for Scottish Government to make sure our money is not used to exploit workers, damage the planet or benefit unethical businesses.

By buying things that have been produced and traded ethically, fairly and responsibly – sold for a fair price and produced by companies which pay their taxes and look after their workers and the environment – Scotland could help millions of people work their way out of poverty and reduce damage to the planet.
