Edinburgh Woollen Mill still refusing responsibility, and the Families of Tazreen Fashions fire victims continue to wait for justice. On November 24th 2012, over 120 workers were killed and many more injured when a fire ripped through the Tazreen Fashions factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Photos taken and documents retrieved from the burnt out ruins showed Tazreen had been producing garments for the UK company Edinburgh Woollen Mill (EWM). EWM have yet to pay a penny in compensation to these workers.
Charred EWM clothing was found on the production line and many Tazreen workers have stated they were producing for EWM at the time of the fire.
It is now one year later and the bereaved families and injured workers are struggling to survive. Many have been unable to get the medical attention they need to recover from their injuries. EWM have yet to pay a penny in compensation to these workers.
Tazreen workers will not be forgotten. Join us in taking action to ask Steve Simpson, the commercial director of Edinburgh Woollen Mill to pay what they owe.
