Justice & Peace Scotland are looking for a diverse crowd of people to take part in the filming of a music video for COP26.  If you can join us this Saturday, 4th September at 3pm in front of the Hydro in Glasgow we would love to see you!

We are all aware of just how precarious our future is and particularly that of our children all across the world, if climate action is not taken now.  Some of our children are too young to fight for their future, therefore we must raise our voice however we can to protect our future and that of future generations. COP26 needs to reflect that urgency for action and this project hopes to focus on that.   Therefore, we need to gather as many people, young and old, together with  climate banners (if you have them).  We want a crowd to demonstrate how the climate movement is growing and gaining momentum, so the plan is to have drone shots of people coming from all directions to congregate and come together symbolising the growing climate movement.  The song that will be the backdrop of the video was made famous by Bette Midler  - From A Distance.

Please join us on Saturday and if you can encourage others to take part that would be fantastic.  Look out for the big white sheet ‘Save Our Common Home’  if you see that you are in the right place!

From a Distance - Lyrics
Nanci Griffith
From a distance the world looks blue and green
And the snow-capped mountains white
From a distance the ocean meets the stream
And the eagle takes to flight

From a distance there is harmony
And it echoes through the land
It's the voice of hope, it's the voice of peace
It's the voice of every man

From a distance we all have enough
And no one is in need
There are no guns, no bombs, no diseases
No hungry mouths to feed

From a distance we are instruments
Marching in a common band
Playing songs of home, playing songs of peace
They're the songs of every man
God is watching us, God is watching us
God is watching us from a distance

From a distance you look like my friend
Even though we are at war
From a distance I can't comprehend
What all this war is for

From a distance there is harmony
And it echoes through the land
It's the hope of hopes, it's the love of loves
It's the heart of every man

It's the hope of hopes, It's the love of loves
It's the song of every man
