Quakers respond to terrorism

'Two years ago the UK parliament was asked to approve bombing government forces in Syria. the proposal was defeated. Shortly, Parliament may well be asked again (but only if a majority is assured) this time to bomb anti Syrian government forces. The reason given seems to be: Well, all our chums are bombing, so the only responsible course is for us to join in. UK Quakers have produced a profoundly useful response to this vacuous violence. It merits close consideration.'



As Parliament prepares to debate next steps in Syria, Quakers in Britain have made this statement.
