Caritas Anchor House in east London has beaten hundreds of projects across the UK to be shortlisted in the latest Stoves Community Kitchens campaign, and is in the running to win up to £5,000 worth of kitchen appliances.
First launched in 2015, Community Kitchens, which is run by British cooking brand Stoves, seeks to enrich projects in the local community by offering a total of £20,000 in appliances to help them transform their kitchen facilities.
And now Caritas Anchor House, a Catholic charity and life skills centre for homeless adults, has beaten off entries from across the country to make the final shortlist of just ten charities and organisations.
Supporting more than 250 adults in the London Borough of Newham, success in the competition would support Caritas Anchor House’s Home and Hope Appeal, by expanding their facilities to include a training kitchen to offer healthy eating and cooking classes, and offer the chance for users to gain catering qualifications.
The vote is open from Monday 10th July to Sunday 20th August 2017. Bronze, silver and gold packages worth between £2,000 and £5,000 will then be awarded to winning projects.
