On Sunday 27th November at 1pm Justice & Peace Scotland will join our friends from Ayrshire Hope Not Hate outside Scotland's only Immigration Detention Centre - Dungavel. Our peaceful solidarity gathering will last approximately 1 hour.
The purpose behind our presence at Dungavel a few times each year is to register our continuing opposition to immigration detention. We uphold the truth that no crime is committed in seeking asylum. We want an end to the practice of detaining people and removing them from their families and community support systems. We also gather outside Dungavel to give hope to those held inside, to remind them that there are people who care for them continue to campaign for justice on their behalf.
If you can join us outside Dungavel on Sunday 27th Nov at 1pm it would be great to see you there! (ML10 6RF)
We are “called to work together so that there will be no more walls that separate us, no longer others, but only a single ‘we,’ encompassing all of humanity,” We must “make every effort to break down the walls that separate us and, in acknowledging our profound interconnection, build bridges that foster a culture of encounter,” “Today’s migration movements offer an opportunity for us to overcome our fears and let ourselves be enriched by the diversity of each person’s gifts.”
